Since 1955
Sandra Hill is an experimental artist whose style runs a broad gamut ranging from realistic to abstract. Ms. Hill is currently having fun creating mixed media collages she calls “crosswords for the eye” but also enjoys painting watercolors. Her work can be seen at several venues around the Northern Virginia area.
Ms. Hill’s work has been selected for juried shows sponsored by the Arlington Artists Alliance, Springfield Art Guild, Vienna’s Art Guild and the Central Virginia Watercolor Guild. She is a juried member of the Western Ohio Watercolor Society and member of the National Collage Society.
Besides creating her own art, Sandra teaches watercolors and acrylic adult classes for AAA’s Academy and Arlington’s Adult Education organization. She has taught oil painting to handicapped adults and currently teaches private oil classes in her home studio.
Sandra is primarily a self-taught artist who has studied with over 150 national and local artists. She has created commissioned works including presentation pieces for the International Sister City Association, Kennedy Center and Federal Reserve Bank.
