Since early childhood, spent in her native Guatemala, Olga has been interested in all forms of art.  She is moved by romantic and realistic art, especially drawing and painting. As a young adult she had the opportunity of living in Germany for a few years, and immersed herself in the most beautiful museum collections there and in its neighboring countries. However, it was not until she retired from the International Monetary Fund in Washington, D.C., that she took the chance to create art. She has taken numerous classes and workshops locally, e.g., Art League, Northern Virginia Community College, Corcoran College of Art, etc., from which she received Honorable Mentions and a First Prize in Painting. She is also a member of the Miniature Painters, Sculptors and Gravers Society of Washington, D.C. (MPSGS) and fully enjoys the art of miniature. She exhibits her small work at the Mansion at Strathmore in Bethesda, MD, and also larger work at the McLean Community Center, and the Art League. Olga is attracted to portraiture. Says she enjoys doing work that gazes back at her… She likes the process of doing detailed work, and the feeling of “being lost and transported into a delicate and beautiful world!
