Gertrud Mohr-Friedrich is an experimental and spontaneous painter in watercolor, acrylic, mixed media. Inspired by nature and with an inclination towards abstraction she has a variety of subject matter. She is also inspired by her many trips to most continents and climate zones and especially likes the subtropical and tropical flora and fauna. Gertrud has no formal art education but has studied in workshops and classes with a number of nationally known artists in the United States and abroad. Her greatest influence remain the paintings of old and modern masters observed in the great art museums around the world. Gertrud holds a degree in French. She came to the United States from Germany. As a member for many years in the Vienna Arts Society and the McLean Art Society she has been elected to different positions. She also exhibited in group and occasional single shows in the Greater Washington area.
